Missouri Employer Committee MEC calendar
The Missouri Employer Committee (MEC) was established in 1986 to ensure the Division of Workforce Development and the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations are responsive to business needs. The MEC is composed of a broad spectrum of employers representing both large and small businesses. This committee is linked through a state steering committee that carries the concerns of the local committees to the state for consideration.
Locally, 32 employer committees have been established. These committees involve nearly 3,000 employers who make known the concerns of the employer community. Working with local committees, the MEC has conducted hundreds of educational seminars for thousands of Missouri employers.
The Missouri Employer Committee (MEC):
- Works with the Division of Workforce Development and the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations to encourage services tailored to the needs of employers;
- Provides low-cost educational seminars relating to business issues;
- Involves employers in a network of problem solving relationships;
- Keeps employers abreast of changes in the employment law; and
- Responds to the needs of each community.
There is no charge for membership in MEC. If you are interested in becoming a member or would like more information on MEC, please contact your area Missouri Career Center or email mec@ded.mo.gov.
